What changes in your text

The core italic styles map the English letters A–Z and a–z to mathematical Unicode letters. Spaces, line breaks, numbers and punctuation stay in place. Chinese characters, emoji and letters outside the supported mapping are kept as entered, so mixed-language text may contain both styled and ordinary characters.

Italic text versus italic formatting

In a document editor, italic formatting changes the appearance of ordinary text. Here, the text itself contains different characters. Removing formatting after pasting may therefore leave the generated letters in place. Keep the original text when you may need a plain version later.

Keep longer passages readable

Use a short quotation or an emphasized phrase rather than styling an entire article. Decorative text can be harder to search, spell-check or hear with a screen reader. For instructions, names, addresses and other essential details, ordinary letters are easier for more readers to use.

Frequently asked questions

Are line breaks preserved?

The generator preserves line breaks in its output. The destination app may still normalize spacing when you paste.

Why is an accented letter unchanged?

The italic mapping covers basic English letters. Unsupported accented letters stay unchanged rather than being replaced with an incorrect character.
